BuzzFeed News has named Joshua Hersh the latest Michael Hastings National Reporting Fellow. The award is a year-long appointment named in honor of Hastings, who was killed in a car accident in 2013.
Hersh is a freelance journalist. He most recently worked as a Middle East correspondent for The Huffington Post. His work has appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, The Daily Beast and The New Republic.
“Josh is a thoughtful, experienced reporter and a beautiful writer who shares our ambition to tell important stories about American power in ways that move readers and force themselves into the national conversation,” said Ben Smith, BuzzFeed’s editor-in-chief, in a statement,”
Hersh’s appointment is effective immediately.
